Wales's national festival of language and culture pitches its travelling Maes in north Pembrokeshire for 2026, billed as Eisteddfod y Garreg Las. The week of ceremonies, choirs, gigs and competitions marks 850 years since the first recorded Eisteddfod was held in nearby Cardigan in 1176. Alongside the formal pavilion contests sits a sprawling field of stages, stalls and family activities, all run through the medium of Welsh.
National Eisteddfod (Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru) returns in 2026, running 1-8 Aug at Llantwd, near Llandudoch (St Dogmaels), North Pembrokeshire. It is set up to work for families, so all ages are welcome.
Expect a welsh language, cultural, competitions feel. Multi-genre, Welsh-language music, choral fans will feel right at home.
